Symposium: Science from a critical angle

“Wer entscheidet, was ich forsche?”

Biozentrum, Monday, 7.3. – Saturday, 12.3.

Starting from next Monday there will be talks, workshops and panel discussions about science in the context of politics, economics and society. Organised by the “KriWi” Initiative (www.kriwi.ch), the series takes place at the Biozentrum every evening and aims to give controversial input for discussions about the impact and the future of basic research, the influence of the funding situation on the research itself, science in the media and its role in democracy, including more ethical questions like knowledge ownership – issues considered central for future researchers. Most of the talks will be held in German, but discussions will be possible in English.
